More about No Simple Disruption:

John Medeski and Jeff Firewalker of Saint Disruption (https://www.saintdisruption.com) with their partners Osiris Media have launched No Simple Disruption  to honor the power of poetry and music when brought together in the spirit of collaboration. Our aspiration is to provide a platform for young poet visionaries to gain mentorship and collaboration with acclaimed musicians and thought leaders. Our podcast is part of a movement intended to forge new expressive directions among seers, artists and cultural beacons.  NSD provides compelling deep dialogue about what matters most.  The spark of inspiration for No Simple Disruption arose from John and Jeff’s creation of a sonic landscape to support Umar Bin Hassan’s poem called ‘Painstorms,’ you can access work and accompanying video: https://www.saintdisruption.com/painstorms.

We are inviting young poets to submit audio recordings of original poetry works on an on-going basis.  Once chosen for production, recorded poems will be accompanied by original music landscapes generated by world renowned musicians. During each bimonthly monthly podcast we will debut a new work and discuss with the makers their creative process and the topic of the poem. We will occasionally invite luminaries in different fields as guests.

The premiere, featuring 18 year old poet Michaela Kabat and special guests Rising Appalachia, can be found on most podcast streaming platforms under No Simple Disruption. In addition, you can find here: 1 minute (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wa0XXP0pMec) and 5 minute (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fw2L6_x5uDQ ) sizzle reels of our pilot.
