A songwriter & poet often compared to the likes of Bob Dylan, Tom Waits, Roger Waters & Paul Simon.Hypnotic performances comprised of rich textures and virtuosity by a stellar lineup including Jonathan Pearlman (Musical Director/guitars/vocals), Ryan Kijanka (basses), Micah Thomas(drums/percussion/vocals), Scott Sharpe (pedal steel/guitar), Franklin Keel (electric cello/vocals). About Jonathan Pearlman of Alien Music Club:

Jonathan Pearlman is a veteran of the Asheville, NC Music Scene, having performed hundreds of shows in and around the area over a period of decades. Currently, Pearlman is Musical Director for The Asheville Sessionsat Isis Music Hallandsponsors various shows under his band name Jonathan Pearlman’s Alien Music Club. Pearlman has a formidable backlog of original material on various CDs under this band name, covering a wide and diverse landscape of musical genres, including jazz, blues, rock, and more. Pearlman is currently showcasing an acritically acclaimed tribute show entitled“Leonard Cohen: The Deep Cuts”. Past tribute shows include “Paul Simon Meets The Beatles” and “The British are Coming”.Pearlman is also known as the host of the time-honored and venerated AMC Jazz Jam at Barley’sTaproom in Asheville.

This staple of the Asheville Music Scene was very popular for nearly a decade. The list of Pearlman’s musical collaborators is extensive. He is a charter member of BluesChanteuse Peggy Ratusz’s Daddy Longlegs band. He performs with Zack Page, Connor Law, Ryan Kijanka, Chuck Lichtenberger (formerly of Stephanie’s ID/The Archrivals), Taylor Pierson, Micah Thomas, Jason DeCristofaro, Ben Bjorlie, Jacob Rodriguez, Justin Ray, Justin Watt, RussWilson, Reggie Headen, Jay Hoots, Eric Congdon; the list goes continues to grow. Pearlman prides himself on being a professional Musician, Musical Director, Band Leader, Composer/Arranger, and performer in an area so rich and diverse in musical talent. He also cares and gives back to the community, raising funds for non-profits such as BeLoved Asheville, and generously supporting musicians and venues in the area.

About Reggie Headen of The Headen-Law Collective:

Reggie Headen is a native North Carolinian and graduate of the American Musical and Dramatic Academy in NYC. He sees the stage as a medium of many possibilities to connect and engage an audience. He started his professional career as a featured performer at New York’s famous Broadway concert venue Town Hall, playing with giants and peers in the industry. In the fall of 2018, Reggie moved to Asheville, and since moving he’s had what he calls “A Return to Jazz”.Though recently around town, he can be heard singing anything from Aretha Franklin to Jefferson Airplane. The power and panache of his live performances are ones for the history books. Headen beguiles and astounds. A fearless performer and heartfelt old soul vocalist.
