About Solomon Wynstann Hope:
Solomon Wynstann Hope arrived on a late Saturday afternoon in August 2015. Born a micro-preemie at 24 weeks gestation into the loving and devoted hearts of Sarah and Nik and under the watchful, heavenly eye of his brother Isaiah, he arrived facing great adversity. Weighing only 1 pound, 4 ounces at birth, and spending his first 106 days in the NICU, his tiny, fragile frame eventually grew into the mighty, active 6-year-old boy
being honored with this musical celebration.
Living with cerebral palsy, epilepsy, hydrocephalus, and other medical challenges, he has often been called to rely on his Leo spirit to accompany him throughout these short years of his life. He faces regular and ongoing medical procedures, occupational, physical and speech therapies and other modalities that support him toward greater and greater independence.
Recently, he entered kindergarten and is excelling in a variety of ways. He is so thrilled to be at school with his friends because he can express his outgoing and ever-social nature with his teachers and other kids. When he knows it’s a school day, he hops out of bed ready to go!
Solomon sets a beautiful example for the rest of us in that he lives his joy. He is unafraid to express his love and enthusiasm fully and offers every visitor a warm and energetic welcome! His smile really does light up a room and goes right to the heart of anyone fortunate enough to be on the receiving end.
He is an engaged and enthusiastic learner with a brilliant and inquisitive mind. Solomon has a witty sense of humor and an infectious laugh! He continues to grow his vocabulary and skill in the art of conversation and he’s got a lot to say! He also loves playing with cars, puzzles, magnets, is an avid gardener, enjoys both listening to and making music, being read to, and being with his loyal dog, Buju.
This event is offered through the loving hearts of Nik’s friends who wanted to use their musical talents for their biggest fan–Solomon! All proceeds will be used to enhance Solomon’s life and more specifically, for a new wheelchair, an adaptive bike, water therapy, and hippotherapy (equine therapy for people with cerebral palsy.) On behalf of Nik, Sarah and Solomon, thank you all for your contributions, donations, and offerings and for joining us in celebrating this awesome child! Black, disabled lives do indeed matter!
