About Late Night Radio:
Colorado-based electronic music producer Late Night Radio introduces his latest album, Pocket Full of Dreams [Philos Records], an introspective masterpiece skillfully merging reflective rhythms and soul-inspired hip-hop beats. A testament to Late Night Radio’s musical prowess, the new album also contemplates the thematic depth of life’s pursuits and dreams, tracing the poignant highs and lows of such journeys. A consistent force in the evolving electronic music landscape, Alex Medellin (Late Night Radio) consistently crafts authentic sounds brought to life through his deep-rooted passion and diverse musical explorations. Pocket Full of Dreams stands as a testament to Medellin’s life experiences, both in the realm of music and beyond.
“Creating this album made me realize how important being vulnerable in your art is. And realizing that if I make something I truly relate with, it’s going to resonate with other people that are going through the same struggles,” Alex explains.
While shaping Pocket Full of Dreams, the interplay between energetic tour experiences and reflective studio sessions became a key influencer. Alex drew inspiration both from the vibrant energy at shows, and from introspective moments away from the stage. He mentions, “Touring provides inspiration, but the quiet times let me truly connect with my experiences.” This balance sets the stage for Alex’s revelation on the album’s deeper themes:
“This album was really about me getting back to making music for me and not just worrying about whether this will bump at a live show,” admits Medellin. “While touring it’s hard to create without the intention or influence of performing, so to have a break from live shows for a while really gave me a different perspective and the ability to draw on emotion, rather than energy.”
Collaborators on the album include Motifv, Poldoore, and Michal Menert, all of whom have had a significant imprint on Late Night Radio’s recent works and tours. “Found (with Motifv)” weaves a compelling story of evolving dreams and life’s challenges. “On My Shoulder” delves deep into the internal conflicts and dilemmas dictating life choices, while “Shining (with Poldoore)” stands as a beacon of positivity, underscoring the unpredictability and beauty of life. Motifv joins Late Night Radio for the upcoming Pocket Full of Dreams Tour and Poldoore will make appearances at select dates this winter. These collaborations have not only enriched the album’s sonic tapestry but also deepened it’s narrative, making every song a distinct chapter in a cohesive story.
“This entire album feels very personal to me, it’s hard to pick out a specific track as a favorite,” Alex muses. “It’s really about my personal struggle with feeling ‘good enough’ and finding my place in a constantly changing environment. In that sense it’s more like releasing a private journal than an album to me.”
Medellin’s life-long romance with music is evident in every track. Through the melodies and beats of Pocket Full of Dreams, listeners will find a narrative rich in emotion, experience, and introspection, inviting listeners to embark on an unparalleled musical journey – and perhaps one of their own self-discovery.
“Dream big and don’t give up. We all go through periods of self-doubt, but if you keep going there is always another peak after the valley, no matter how far away it seems.”
About Maddy O’Neal:
Dirty Funky Bass Music but make it pretty.
The vibe and soul of the Maddy O’Neal project combines soundscapes from all across the spectrum of genres…Rich in texture and atmosphere, her roots in funk and soul shine through in a bed of low end frequencies making for a unique environment for future bass and synth design to tie it all together. Hailing from Denver, Colorado you can hear the direct electro soul inspiration sprinkled in her productions but she has managed to carve out her own unique lane within the bass community. As a self taught producer and DJ, with a wildly creative upbringing, Maddy’s expression was formed by way of soulful melodic overtones, driven basslines, and glitched out hip hop grooves. Maddy’s live performances consist of original compositions, drum pads and an interwoven storyline ranging from down low grimey bangers to shimmery mid tempo vocal bass tracks and head nod disco. Her momentum is unstoppable as she has been touring the country for the last 5 years playing 90+ shows a year spreading her infectious energy from stage to stage.
With hits like “Zest Please”; a collaboration with the iconic Clozee that amassed over 2 million spotify plays in just one year, 5 EPs, a massive sophomore LP “Ricochet” in 2022 followed by 2 volumes of remix albums, Maddy’s repertoire is ever expanding leaving fan bases across the world wanting more.
Maddy O’Neal has played Coachella, Lollapalooza, Lost Lands, Electric Forest, Bonnaroo Envision, North Coast, Red Rocks (x3) and many many more. Her touring resume is long and accomplished by supporting such artists as Clozee, Pretty Lights, Griz, Big Gigantic, Liquid Stranger, The Floozies, Opiuo, Wreckno, STS9, Manic Focus, and more!
Upcoming notable summer festival performances include highlights such as Cascade, SSBD, and more.
