About Kool Keith:

A unique figure in hip-hop, Kool Keith started out as a member of the influential Bronx group Ultramagnetic MCs in the 1980s. The man born Keith Thornton subsequently appeared under the names Dr. Doom and Dr. Octagon before reverting to Kool Keith. His recordings bear some otherworldly touches. Black Elvis/Lost in Space from 1999 put Keith on the map as a solo artist. Dozens of releases have followed, from solo efforts to collaborative ventures like the Analog Brothers (with Ice-T) and the Diesel Truckers (with KutMasta Kurt). His latter-day output includes 2015’s Time? Astonishing! (with L’Orange) and 2019’s Keith (produced by Psycho Les of the Beatnuts), as well as fashion-themed efforts like 2021’s Keith’s Salon and sequels like Black Elvis 2 (2023).

About Spaceman Jones and The Motherships:

Emerging from the vibrant music scene of Asheville, North Carolina, Spaceman Jones & the Motherships is the brainchild of Davaion Bristol, known as Spaceman Jones, and Cliff B. Worsham, aka Mother HOOD. Their collaboration embodies a shared creative vision, blending talents and resilience into a continuously evolving sound.

Both Asheville natives, Spaceman Jones and Mother HOOD first crossed paths through their mutual admiration for each other’s music. Spaceman’s expertise in hip hop and Mother HOOD’s contributions to the electronic group RBTS WIN laid the foundation for their artistic partnership. Despite not growing up together, their journeys into adulthood were marked by navigating a broken system, where education often intertwines with injustice and inequality.

These transformative experiences ignited the incisive, optimistic lyricism of Spaceman and the confident, darkly joyful beats of Mother HOOD. Their sonic exploration was further enriched by the production support of RBTS WIN’s Javier Francisco Bolea.

In 2017-2018, the duo unveiled “Spaceman Jones & the Motherships, Vols. I and II,” delivering songs steeped in urban wisdom, Southern influences, and sharp-witted humor. Followed up by Vol 3 and Space and Time in 2020, The Best of Volumes and Loops of Life Part 1 in 2021, Immaculate Conception in 2022, and Loops of Life Part 2 in 2023. Their music challenges listeners to awaken, engage, and embrace a shift in both sound and consciousness. Positioned at the forefront of hip hop, Spaceman Jones & the Motherships are trailblazing a new path forward, and they invite you to join them on this musical journey.
