The Collection (with Begonia) will be performing LIVE on the Indoor Stage at Salvage Station on Friday, May 20th! Doors open at 7pm and the music starts at 8pm. This is a General Admission, 12+ ONLY show (no exceptions)! FREE ON-SITE PARKING! North Carolina’s The Collection released “Won’t Stop Yet” 

“Won’t Stop Yet” is an honest, sticky pop song about trying to survive what often feels like the end of the world. About the song, lead singer David Wimbish said, “It’s my version of an empowering anthem – I want so badly to believe we’ll ‘get through this,’ but it doesn’t often feel true…so, for now, it’s one-foot-in-front-of-the-other choruses and hopeful melodies.” 

The song popped into David’s head while seasick on tour at the Rock Boat cruise en route to Jamacia. Wimbish laughs about the juxtaposition of joy and sickness – and how it laid the perfect foundation for the song. “I was nauseated and curled up in the fetal position,  and drawing beats and whispering, ‘might not make it further, but I won’t stop yet.’ I finished the lyrics a month later, on New Year’s Eve, processing entering another year of Covid, shutdowns and generally feeling exhausted. All this is going on, and yet there’s something about a new year that is supposed to inspire and keep us going.” 

Just before hitting the studio to record, Wimbish threw a snippet of the demo online and the clip + song went viral. “It was pretty overwhelming and great, to be honest – we saw a 400% jump in streaming, new followers, and fan activity in just a week’s time. I think everyone was just relating to that feeling of exhaustion, reflecting and looking at what this next year is going to be. It was great to see it viewed, shared, and discovered by so many new fans.”

“Won’t Stop Yet” is the Saxapahaw, NC outfit’s first release this year following 3 single releases in 2021: “GET LOST” (October) with its highly touted companion video, the pop anthem, “Loud” (April), and their soft
winter ditty, “Blue Day” (February).

The Collection is a 2019 NPR Tiny Desk Judge’s Pick and has released 3 records independently. They are currently touring and recording LP4 (tbd).

ABOUT BEGONIA:

Indie pop powerhouse Begonia launched into the Canadian music scene with her critically acclaimed 2017 EP Lady In Mind. Begonia received media praise, numerous awards, and two #1 songs on Canada’s CBC national radio chart. Yet to her fans, she felt like music’s best-kept secret.  

Begonia released her audacious debut LP Fear in September 2019. Fear was nominated for Adult Alternative Album of the Year at the JUNOs, longlisted for the Polaris Prize, and spent 10 straight weeks as the #1 album on !earshot’s Top 50 chart. Two of her singles were named CBC Music Fan Favourites, and songs from the album have appeared in productions on Netflix & Oprah Winfrey Network. Begonia has been touring major festivals and playing to sold-out audiences at small clubs across North America. 

Begonia was set to make her European touring debut in May 2020. Due to COVID-19, the remaining dates on Begonia’s Fear Tour were canceled upon arrival in New York. Just two weeks earlier, cameras captured Begonia’s five consecutive sold-out shows in her hometown of Winnipeg. The explosive performances captured the imagination of a whole city, and The Fear Tour (Live) was streamed on New Year’s Eve 2021 as a concert film, and released in January 2021 as a live album.
